Are students really learning when we teach? Sometimes it's hard to tell, even after our very best lessons. Visible learning strategies allow students to show their thinking! This helps teachers see if students are learning AND helps students analyze their own learning. Visible learning strategies are powerful, proven tools that accelerate student learning. This hands-on session will focus on specific strategies for vocabulary and comprehension teachers can take immediately back to their 3-12 classroom. No matter what subject they teach, all teachers are literacy teachers. Some of the strategies will include foldable vocab, quick draw, thinking boxes, text rendering, reciprocal teaching, text to images, and others.
